Wearlog is a smart wardrobe application within an experimental technosocial system which challenges normative behaviour in clothing consumption. Wearlog datamines histories of garments and their users, generating quantitative data on wearing, washing and mending and qualitative inputs on narratives, emotions and values.  A forthcoming research paper will examine the benefits of smart clothing and personal informatics to change user behaviour and how the data can be applied as a persuasive tool for wider change.  This practice-based research is developed by auto-ethnographer Jonnet Middleton who has pledged to clothe herself with the existing clothes in her wardrobe for the rest of her life.
